I'm trying to create a new show in dubit.exe. I set several slides to different duration having chosen the option to do so. I imported a .wav file for audio. When I run the show, the duration I set for the first image halts the show without going to the 2nd image.

DubIT isn't available anymore therefore I can't provide anything related to support because there isn't something to use. Instead, download and use another application that has the same functionality.
For example, the ProShow Gold is an application that allows you to create slideshows with music and graphical effects with the possibility to export it to various file formats: http://proshow-gold.software.informer.com/
